01 OUR PURPOSE
Moving freight
forward, together.
Freight connects our economies and our communities. Its future
should create opportunity for both.
The EV Innovation, Training and Localisation Fund (EVITAL Fund) is
a registered South African non-profit company working towards an
inclusive, evidence-led transition to electric freight in South
Africa and across Africa.
We connect people, ideas and resources to support cleaner
transport, sustainable livelihoods and local opportunity—helping
shape the wider transition to electric mobility.
02 THE WORK THAT MOVES US
Change is a collective journey.
Good policy and strong partnerships are the foundations of a fair
and practical electric-freight transition.
Better policy for
electric freight.
We develop and advocate for evidence-led approaches that respond
to the needs of freight operators, workers, communities and
industry.
- National e-mobility and charging plans
- Industry, skills and localisation
- Responsible battery use and circularity

One transition.
Many voices.
Freight electrification cannot be delivered by one organisation
alone. We bring diverse voices together to identify barriers,
build shared positions and advocate for change.
- Freight and logistics businesses
- Workers, drivers and communities
- Government, research and civil society

Drivers, workers, women, young people and affected communities
deserve a meaningful voice in the decisions that shape their
future.
03 OUR FOCUS / E-FREIGHT
Cleaner freight
has to work in the real world.
Electric freight means moving goods using electric vehicles,
supported by the charging, energy and systems that make them work.

A PRACTICAL PATH FORWARD ↗
Electrification is about more than replacing a truck. Routes,
loads, charging, access to energy, workforce readiness and the
full cost of ownership all matter.
We use evidence and collaboration to help build practical,
lower-risk pathways that work for operators, people and the
environment.
